Eurasian Water Milfoil
At the 13 Aug 2011 Annual General meeting a committee of three directors: Paul Thompson, Duncan MacDougall and Gord Moore was established to investigate what has been done on other lakes similarly infested with the milfoil and make recommendations for the most effective and ecologically sound method of reducing / controlling the milfoil.
The three currently known possibilities are: harvesting, use of herbicides and the introduction of a natural weevil that is already in the lake but not in sufficient quantities to control the milfoil. The first two control methods are not considered effective long term nor are they ecologically friendly. Fund raising may be required to implement any control program.
